At SunHealth Behavioral Health System for Boise, we provide two unique mental health services to the community.
     Our 22-bed inpatient geriatric psychiatric hospital is located in west Boise. This secured hospital is an acute care unit for patients aged 62 and older who need short-term psychiatric intervention and stabilization. Depending on the individualized treatment plan for each patient, services may include physical, occupational and/or speech therapy, group and/or individualized therapies, family or couples therapy, medication management and therapeutic recreation.
     Our professional staff consists of the following individuals:

board-certified physician assistant.
master-level counselors.
licensed nursing staff.
licensed social workers.
     Some special features of the hospital include a high staff to patient ratio (one-on-one as needed), family inclusion in treatment and opportunities for families to interact with the entire treatment team.
     In addition, SunHealth has an outpatient mental health clinic. The clinic is staffed with psychiatric nurse practitioners with prescriptive authority and master-level counselors, all under fellowship-trained psychiatric oversight. We provide mental health services for those who are 18 and older and who need treatment for a variety of mental illnesses:

adjustment reactions.
eating disorders.
marital and relationship issues.
